Dermalux LED Therapy
Clinically calibrated red and near-infrared light that calms inflammation and supports healing, with no heat injury or downtime.
Gentle, barrier-first care to calm facial redness, flushing and sensitivity, chosen for your skin and your tone.
Less redness, less reactivity — without the harsh actives.
Rosacea and facial redness respond best to a calm, barrier-first approach, not aggressive treatment. At Skin Avenue we soothe reactive skin with gentle options like Dermalux LED, Korean glass skin facials and HydraFacials, and we help you manage triggers so redness can settle and stay calmer over time.
Knowing what is driving your redness is the first step to calming it well.
Facial redness comes in many forms. For some people it is a persistent flush across the cheeks and nose, for others it is a quick, hot reaction to heat, spice, alcohol, stress or skincare that is too strong. Sometimes it shows up as visible capillaries, sometimes as small bumps that can be mistaken for acne. Rosacea is one recognised cause, but redness and reactivity can also come from a compromised skin barrier, sensitivity, or over-exfoliation from harsh products.
What these have in common is an easily provoked, inflamed skin barrier. When the barrier is weakened, the skin loses water more easily, reacts to more triggers, and struggles to settle. Reaching for stronger actives at this point tends to make things worse, not better. The skin needs support and calm, not more stimulation.
Rosacea in particular is a long-term, relapsing condition. It is medically diagnosed and managed by a doctor or dermatologist, and if you suspect you have it we would encourage you to see one, especially if it involves the eyes or persistent bumps. What a skin clinic can do alongside medical care is support the skin gently, reduce visible redness and help you avoid the everyday triggers that flare it.
Skin Avenue is a non-medical skin clinic. We do not diagnose or cure rosacea. We offer gentle, supportive treatments and skin guidance, and we will always suggest seeing a GP or dermatologist where that is the right step.
Reactive skin does not need to be pushed. It needs to be supported. Every plan we build for redness starts by rebuilding the barrier and lowering inflammation, then adds only the gentlest treatments your skin can comfortably take.

Each is chosen to soothe rather than provoke, then tailored to your skin and tone. Explore any treatment in full.

Straight talk on what treatment can and cannot do for redness.
We will always be honest about redness and rosacea. Rosacea is a chronic condition that can be managed and calmed, but it is not cured, and no facial or light treatment can promise to make it disappear for good. What a considered, gentle plan can do is reduce visible redness, support a stronger barrier, and help you have fewer and milder flares over time.
This is also why we deliberately avoid harsh actives, strong peels and heat-heavy treatments on reactive skin. High-strength acids, aggressive exfoliation and hot treatments can feel productive but often provoke redness rather than settle it, and they can set sensitive skin back. Our approach is the opposite. We calm first, build the barrier, and only introduce more once your skin is ready and comfortable. If a treatment is not right for your skin at this moment, we will tell you plainly and suggest a gentler path.

Redness and flushing can be harder to see on deeper skin tones, and are sometimes missed or read as warmth, dark patches or a change in texture rather than colour. Reactive, sensitive skin also carries a higher risk of leaving marks behind when it is over-treated, particularly in melanin-rich skin.
That is why our redness care is also tone-aware. We assess your Fitzpatrick type, keep intensity conservative and prioritise calming inflammation to lower the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, so darker and sensitive skin is genuinely looked after, not an afterthought.
Care for melanin-rich skin →No. Rosacea is a chronic condition that is medically diagnosed and managed, and it cannot be cured by a skin clinic. What we can do is help calm and manage it, gently supporting the skin barrier, reducing visible redness and helping you avoid triggers so flares may be fewer and milder over time. For diagnosis and medical treatment we will always suggest seeing a GP or dermatologist.
It depends on what is driving your redness, which is why we start with a personalised skin assessment. As a general guide, Dermalux LED therapy is often our first choice because it is calming and gentle, supported by barrier-building facials like our Korean glass skin facial. We avoid harsh, heat-heavy or high-strength treatments on reactive skin.
Generally no, not on actively reactive or inflamed skin. Strong peels, high-strength acids and aggressive exfoliation can provoke redness rather than calm it. Our approach is barrier-first and gentle, so we focus on soothing, hydrating and strengthening the skin before considering anything more, and only if your skin can comfortably take it.
LED is one of the gentlest treatments we offer. It uses calibrated light rather than heat injury or abrasion, so it does not strip or provoke the skin, and it is designed to help settle inflammation. It is generally well tolerated on sensitive skin and across all Fitzpatrick tones, with suitability confirmed at your assessment.
Common triggers include heat, sun exposure, hot drinks, spicy food, alcohol, stress, temperature changes and skincare that is too strong for your skin. Triggers are individual, so part of your plan is identifying yours and building a gentle routine around them. Daily broad-spectrum SPF is one of the most useful habits for keeping redness calmer.
Yes. On deeper skin tones, redness and flushing can be harder to see and are sometimes read as warmth, darker patches or changes in texture. Reactive darker skin also has a higher risk of leaving pigment behind if it is over-treated. We assess your tone, keep our approach conservative and prioritise calming inflammation to protect your skin.
